At the recent Virgin Holidays annual awards ceremony in London, Sun Group Inc. swept four of the five awards earned by the Barbados tourism industry, based on consistently excellent customer service scores over the past year.

SunTours Caribbean, this year’s highest awardee and a first-time winner, earned Gold for Best Destination Management Company Worldwide. SunTours ensures that Virgin Holidays customers’ are looked after seamlessly by its team of ground representatives.

Savannah Beach Hotel won a Silver Award for Best Family Hotel in the Caribbean. Sun Group renovated and began operating this resort as an all-inclusive in 2011, adding extensive facilities, including a fantastic Family Centre and Kids Club.

Sugar Cane Club, an intimate boutique hotel, continues to earn numerous accolades. At the Virgin awards, it earned Bronze for Best Small Hotel in the Caribbean, the fifth year the hotel has won in this category; having won both gold and silver in previous years. Also in 2014, the hotel was listed in the Top 25 Hotels for Romance in the Caribbean by TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel review site.

Drive-A-Matic Car Rentals also earned Bronze in the Best Car Hire Company Worldwide, a category it has continually won both bronze and silver awards in since 2003. The company continues to expand and upgrade its fleet in Barbados, St. Lucia and Antigua.
